NEW TALENTS STEAL THE SHOW

The Sepang International Circuit (SIC), dubbed the home of Malaysian motorsports, hosted the second round of the 2009 MAM-SIC RallySprint series on June 28th. This collaboration with series creator Motorsport Association of Malaysia (MAM) and organizer Wheelspin Event Management attracted more new entries including popularly known drift drivers Ser Ming Hui, commonly known as ‘Ah Fai’ and lady drifter Leona Chin. And for the first time ever in Malaysian rallying history, a BMW car was entered by driver Danny How.

MAM-SIC RALLYSPRINT SERIES 2009 icon ALL SET FOR ROUND 2

It will be another milestone for the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) come June 28th as the MAM-SIC 2009 RallySprint series moves into its second round for the year and unlike round 1 which was run on gravel roads, round 2 will be run entirely on tarmac.

The narrow outer service roads of SIC which are lined with fast flowing & tight corners will be turned into rally Special Stages for a day and will pose as a challenge to those wanting to secure a good finish.

SARAWAK CUB PRIX icon 2009 SARAWAK CUB PRIX SEASON FINALE

It was a bittersweet ending to the 2009 Sarawak Cub Prix season which ended in Miri on Sunday, June 14. The four round series which became an independent event this year after being part of the Malaysian Cub Prix last season was rated as a success with many Borneo based teams expressing their interest to join next season.

The season closing round saw Zamhari Hadi, Haffiz Rashid and Mohd Razif all bag a win each in their respective category. In Category A, Zamhari Hadi won the race with Aswadi Rambli and Maskirin Kabar coming in second and third.

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL ROUND IN IPOH

Another successful round of the Motorsports Association of Malaysia Autokhana Series and Kart Slalom Series was held in Ipoh on Sunday ( June 14) has helped churn out more talented drivers. A total of 30 drivers turned up for the second round in the Silver State which took place at the Giant Superstore in Sunway City, Tambun.

Round 1 winner Mohd Sani Mohd Yusof was the toast of the day as he almost made it three wins out of four classes. However, he managed to snatch two wins for the day first being Class 1. With a track 630m in length, the total time is calculated on average timing for 2 runs. Sani clocked 2:10.36s to beat his closest rival Lan Hong Chan by seven seconds while Robert Long Eng Keat was third in 2:20.44s.
