It was a fabulous Sunday for the 40 karters who were selected out of the 174 who took part in the MAM Karting Talent Search which was held throughout December 2009. Today will mark another milestone with the selection of 20 top karters, 10 each from Cadet and Junior to be known as ‘MAM Rookies 2009/2010’.

In the Junior Category, Shaqeer Haire Saiful Rizal, 13 years old from SMK Damansara Utama recorded the fastest time clocking 1.03.6260s closely followed by Daniel Francis, 14 years old from SM Subang Utama at 1.03.7780s.

Following a successful opening phase of the MAM Karting Talent Search, the Motorsports Association of Malaysia is now looking to the future. MAM has identified a total of 40 karters for the Shoot-Out session scheduled on January 31, 2010 for the Kart Camp which was held through out December 2009 in Sepang International Karting Circuit.

The Motorsports Association of Malaysia (“MAM”) is proud with the positive feedback and over whelming response obtained from parents for the Kart Camp which was held at the Sepang International Karting Circuit throughout December 2009. The Talent Search was open only to Malaysian school children who are in their primary and lower secondary aged between 7 and 14-years-old.

Mr Fazli Mukhtar, Development Manager of MAM said, “A total of 40 karters will be selected for a Shoot-Out on January 31 based on their commitment and discipline besides the outstanding results achieved".
