Funding for Sports Development

Funding is available to support the growth of motor sport. This funding is administered by the Motorsports Commission of Malaysia but applications must be received through MAM.

Grants for Clubs

Affiliated Clubs may apply for financial assistance to develop their activities, especially in the areas of youth development and training of club officials. Grants may also apply to special projects such as development of events and tournaments, purchase of equipment and training related to new initiatives may also be eligible.

Funding for Competitors

There is also funding available to individual competitors in a program designed to identify gifted talent and provide a progression ladder for them to reach the top.

Established Competitors and Commercial Projects

There is not unlimited funding available at our disposal and generally assistance is not available to established competitors and commercial projects as the focus is on youth development and club activities. MCM and/or MAM do not provide sponsorship. However, we may be able to assist in other areas such as help with the presentation of sponsorship proposals and introduction to sponsors.

In exceptional cases, for projects of national significance, the government may assist with funding if a project can provide significant economic benefits to the community or generate significant international exposure for Malaysia. The funding criteria for such projects are specific and even the best presented project plans are no guarantee for funding.

The funding guidelines may chance without notice as this a new initiative which may require modification as the programme develops.
