
A 2 days technical motor sport course organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia was held at the Kompleks Rakan Muda Daerah Bera Pahang on May 20-22. The course was attended by a total of 44 participants which includes 4 ladies from the state of Pahang, Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur and Wilayah Persekutuan.
The speakers from MAM were En Fazli Mukhtar Affandi, MAM’s Motor Sports Development Manager, En Md Masshoud Md Umar, MAM’s Technical & Safety / Coordinator of Special Project and En Husaif Hatta, Motor Sport Operations. All the three speakers have vast experience and knowledge in motor sport particularly in organizing clubs, national as well as international events.
Mr. Muhamad Khalil B. Said, Assistant Officer of JBSN Pahang said ‘The objective and mission organising this course is for the participants to get better understanding about the rules and regulations in motor sports as well as the technical involvements. We plan to organise more of this course annually with the support from MAM’.
Mr. Shaiful Nizam B. Yaakob of JBS Wilayah Persekutuan, Kuala Lumpur and Mr. Wan Salahudi B. Wan Othman from PBSD Bera shared the same views. They obtained a better understanding on the rules and regulations as well as technical aspects related to organising Motor Sport activities in a safe and professional manner. Both are reporting to the Motor Sports Development Department of the state.
Mr. Wan Khairi B. Wan Hamdan, the Deputy Secretary of Relax Bikers Group was thrilled with the 2 days course. He said ‘I joint this course is to learn and gain more knowledge about related matters with regards to motor sport. This club only organizes big bike convoy therefore this is something new to the club and maybe in the future with the knowledge I have currently acquired we can plan a simple race or something really motor sports’.
Mr. Shahidan B. Palil the secretary of Kelab 4x4 Pahang said, ‘Even though my involvement in motor sport started long time ago, there is still a lot that I need to learn. It is always good to have such a course on a regular basis’.
‘More marshal and Official courses should be organised by the Ministry and MAM for the betterment of the motor sport industry,’ said Mr Jefri Mohamed a member of the Kelana Speed.
A similar course will be held in Sarawak for participants from Sabah, Sarawak and W.P.Labuan by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia. Interested participants can contact MAM for a similar course to be organised.
