PROMISING ENTRIES FOR A SMALL RACE |
The by-election weekend was certainly enjoyed by Muhd Anuar, Mohd Harith, Rizal Zakaria and Hazlan Shah on Saturday. They got on the podium at the Motocross Championship 2010 which was held at Sungai Dusun.
Muhd Anuar who was the winner for the Cubcross and Classic + CDK Bike stepped up the podium with a bright smile. “I am very happy with my performance today even though my bike has some problems. This winning is due to the encouragements obtained from my team. I feel so happy and proud to get on the podium twice although the competition was very tough” he said. Meanwhile, cubcross category saw a close competition between Mohd Erwan in second place and Mohd Fitri in the third place. |

SKILLS AND UNDERSTANDING ESSENTIAL IN MOTOR SPORT |
A 3 days technical motor sport course organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia was held at the Ayer Keroh Country Resort in Melaka. The course from April 23-25 was attended by a total of 37 participants from the state of Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Selangor.
The speakers from MAM were En Fazli Mukhtar Affandi, MAM’s Motor Sports Development Manager, En Md Masshoud Md Umar, MAM’s Technical & Safety / Coordinator of Special Project and En Husaif Hatta, Motor Sport Operations. All the three speakers have vast experience and knowledge in motor sport particularly in organizing clubs, national as well as international events. |

THRILLS & SPILLS AT WMK MAM-SIC RALLY X 2010 SEASON OPENER |
Round 1 of the WMK MAM-SIC Rally X series 2010 kicked off on 11th April with 35 drivers vying for various category wins and adding to that, valuable points counting towards the championship. Organised by Wheelspin Events and supported by the Motorsport Association of Malaysia (MAM) along with venue host Sepang International Circuit (SIC) this series saw the inclusion of a new title sponsor, WMK FX GROUP, who upgraded their commitment from series co-sponsor in 2009. Staying on for 2010 are co-sponsors Pennzoil Racing and ONE Communications with more entities pledging their support as this entry level rally series progresses. |

The 1st Round for the WMK MAM-SIC Rally X Series 2010 kicks off this weekend on 11th April 2010 at the Sepang International Circuit. Make your way to carpark A3 of the circuit (opposite Petronas on LCCT route) and cheer on those who are competing, improve your photography skills, learn more about competition car preparation & driving, meet the drivers or just make new friends.
Driver line-up includes 2009 junior rally champions, A. Magendran and Mohd Shafiq, best of the best Malaysian autocrossers Ivan Khong, Julian Phang, Mickey Teoh and lady rally champion Gina Finanza, Guanne Khoo and Drift Darling Leona Chin. |

The Malaysia Motorsports Forum 2010, aimed at discussing ways and formulating solutions to drive the Malaysian motor sport industry forward was held on 5th April 2010 at the Palace of the Golden Horses, Selangor.
Organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Malaysia together with Sepang International Circuit (“SIC”) and Motorsports Association of Malaysia (“MAM”), the Forum was attended by all those involved in the local motor sport industry. The forum provided the ideal opportunity for clubs, associations, companies, manufacturers, teams, individuals and others in the industry to meet and discuss relevant issues. |

First of all, I wish to welcome all of you to this Motorsports Forum 2010. I would like to express my deepest appreciation to Mr Christ Aylett, Mr Guy Austin and Mr Clive Bowen who traveled all the way from the other side of the globe to be with us today.
I must also congratulate Dato’ Mokhzani Mahathir of Sepang International Circuit (SIC) for a job well done in turning the last weekend’s Formula 1 Grand Prix into a spectacular event. I am sure next year’s race will be much more successful. And I am definitely looking forward for another exciting race event. |

POSITIVE FEEDBACK |
On 10th September 2007, the Ministry Of Finance (“MOF”) had approved the Duty and Tax Exemption (DTEX) Scheme for the importation of vehicles, spare parts and safety apparels as a mode of support in further developing motorsports in Malaysia. MOF together with MAM had tabled out the terms and conditions and MAM has been given the responsibility to supervise this scheme.
In addition to this, on 10th January 2008, The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (“MITI”) had agreed to grant MAM a non-quota AP which permits the importation of vehicle under similar terms and conditions. MAM will act as the trustee on the APs for any vehicles which will be imported into Malaysia solely for motor racing purposes only. |

Organisers, teams and followers of Rallying, Autocross, Drifting, SuperMoto and even classic sports cars are expected to strut their stuff from 2.00 p.m. – 6.00 p.m. on Sunday the 21st of March at carpark W2 of Shah Alam Stadium in Selangor. |

KART SLALOM COMPETITION 2009 SEASON ENDS SUCCESSFULLY |

The competition between Mohd Syazuwie bin Zawawi and Muhammad Ammar Rohasreen to grab the Overall Winner title in the MAM Kart Slalom Series 2009 was very stiff indeed. Both of them competed with full sportsmanship. Due to Ammar’s mistake driving aggressively along the U bend and his slow speed has caused him to lose a lot of time when the competition was taking place. Ammar managed to clock 56.86 s along the 450 meter of the carpark area. He clinched the 5th position and 3rd place for Class KS Cadet. |
